Dear Readers and Friends,

For those who have been asking, some good news for 2012! We are announcing the title of my next book The Fallen Angel (pub date July 17, 2012) and it is now available for pre-order at Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Yes, it is a Gabriel Allon book, but for now all I can tell you is that Gabriel is back in Rome restoring one of his favorite paintings at the Vatican. Needless to say, that is just the beginning of the story – stay tuned for more soon!

In the meantime, we are posting hints and photographs on Facebook and Twitter, and thank you again for your kind emails and patience. I promise I am writing as fast as I can and look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on tour this summer.

The wait is finally over! Portrait of a Spy goes on-sale tomorrow, July 19th, and as a special thank you for subscribing to the newsletter, I am sending you a sneak preview of the book. Click here to read the first two chapters; I hope you enjoy them!

As many of you may know, Portrait of a Spy is my 14th book and the 11th to feature art restorer, assassin, and spy Gabriel Allon. It was inspired by a line I once read by Elie Wiesel – “One person of integrity can make a difference, a difference between life and death.” Ten years after 9/11, Portrait of a Spy will introduce you to such a person of integrity: a reclusive heiress and art collector who has everything in the world, but is willing to sacrifice it all to take a stand.
